Springiness and alertness of footwork is the key theme. The rear heel is raised and cocked, ever ready to pull the trigger into action. You are never set or tensed, but are ready and flexible.

- Bruce Lee

Guitar Learning System

This week's challenge is still in the studio. Please come back soon....

The Journey of the Black Belt Guitar Player

Our Teaching Style

By carefully researching a comprehensive body of core musical and guitar knowledge that applies to all styles, we have structured the guitar studies at 8 distinct levels. By aligning your study goals with our program, you will learn all essential aspects of guitar in the most logical and natural order, and will avoid going in circles and even hitting the proverbial "wall", that most self-taught players hit eventually. You may progress at your own speed, depending on your experience, and level of commitment.

Martial Arts and Guitar?

Yin Yang Principles in Guitar Music

Rhythm, Melody and Harmony in Guitar Music

Body, Mind and Spirit in Guitar Music

In and Yo: Our Place in the Musical Universe

Our guitar lessons incorporate unique perspectives and insights gained by the study of ancient martial arts. Familiar concepts as Yin and Yang, Body Mind and Spirit, In and Yo, and other martial arts analogies appear throughout the lessons to make the guitar concepts more memorable, and also instill a heightened sense of discipline, balance, creativity, individuality and excellence in the students.

You may study all this body of guitar knowledge on your own, but as in martial arts, a good teacher can shave years off of your training. If you are currently taking lessons, see if you and your teacher can use any of the ideas from this method to enhance your own training. If you are a teacher, you might also be able to enhance your own teaching by reviewing these ideas with your students.

Text: We are very sorry to report that during a routine move of our site from one server to another, our hosting service provider managed to delete 5 years of user forum interactions among our cherished members, and poor backup and recovery management made it impossible to recover the lost database. As a result, all of our member posts have been deleted, and we are starting our forums over from scratch.

For us, this was devastating news, and we are doing everything we can to restablish the user forums, and other database-driven features on our website, and sincerely hope that our more than 1000 members will be able to rejoin our forums soon.

Please continue to enjoy the free lessons, and come back often as we re-establish links with our partners, and while we get the forums going again.

Sincerely,

BBGA Team
